Doyon Emerald's corporate office is located in Anchorage, Alaska where the company has been in business for over 11 years.  Doyon Emerald recently opened a regional office in Alexandria, Virginia providing services to the DC Metro area.  In addition, Doyon Emerald currently has logistical and program support employees working at government-provided facilities in Warner-Robins, Georgia.  Many of Doyon Emerald's clients are Fortune 500 companies who are located throughout Alaska and the Lower 48, and are serviced from both main office in Alaska and Alexandria.

Doyon Emerald is seeking an individual to join our team of dynamic professionals as a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical).  Doyon Emerald employees receive a competitive compensation and full benefits package.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager.  Assignments will include support and management of engineering projects, integrity management projects, operations projects, and other related consulting projects for commercial and federal clients.  The position will periodically interface with clients, other contractors, and other companies within the Doyon family of companies.  The position will require travel to urban and rural locations in Alaska and outside Alaska. 

We are looking for someone to join our team who shows a strong sense of pride and ownership in their work, while still able to fully participate in a team environment.  Salary depends on experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Project Management
  • Supervision of project staff
  • Engineering review, analysis, calculations, and modeling
  • Documentation and data research
  • Specification and plans development
  • Engineering and technical report writing
  • Operations and maintenance procedure development
  • Field construction support
  • Marketing and business development
  • Proposal development and cost estimating

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience.
  • Current Professional Engineer Certification
  • Proficiency in the practical application of engineering and technology.
  • Independent problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing background.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional experience in, or familiarity with, the oil and gas industry, drilling, and mechanical fabrication projects.
  • Pipeline design and integrity management experience.
  • Proficiency with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software and Finite Element Analysis modeling software.
