Job Description:

The successful candidate will report to senior engineering staff. Assignments will include support on engineering projects, integrity management projects, operations projects, and other related oil and gas consulting projects. This position will facilitate and document safety reviews on projects for new and existing production facilities, depending on experience and competency progression. The position will require travel to urban and rural locations in Alaska and outside Alaska.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engineering review, analysis, calculations, and modeling.
  • Documentation and data research.
  • Engineering and technical report writing.
  • Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) meeting support.
  • Operations and maintenance procedure development.
  • Oil and gas facility field support.
  • Project controls and management.
  • Marketing and business development.
  • Proposal development and cost estimating.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0 to 5 years of professional experience with the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and technology.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing background.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience in, or familiarity with, the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of Process Hazards Analysis (PHA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HazOp), or Level of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) regulatory knowledge.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) credential and currently has, or able to get within 2 years, Professional Engineering (P.E.) Certification.
  • Acquaintance with HYSYS, Aspen, ChemCAD or other process modeling software.
